Professional Development Programme 2011-2112
The programme of courses set out in this annual programme has been developed to address current school needs and to anticipate and prepare for future developments in education. Education and Learning Services compile the training programme in the light of:
· School priorities identified in School Development Plans
· Outcomes of school self-evaluation and review
· Outcomes of school and subject reviews
· Outcomes of OFSTED inspections, including the learning from pilot inspections under the revised framework.
· New or anticipated requirements arising from legislation or guidance advice and reviews.
· The development of new areas of policy by the City Council and by Schools
· Consideration of equality of access and opportunity to training by all who work in or support the work of schools
· It is designed to meet the needs of teachers and support staff, from newly qualified to experienced and senior staff at different points in their career, within a framework of continuing professional development.

It is important that you book well in advance to ensure Course Leaders can check numbers attending and cancel courses where appropriate with reasonable notice without incurring unnecessary charges. For Health and Safety reasons, can we remind you not to turn up without having received a booking confirmation to avoid any need to turn attendees away.
