Able gifted and talented
In recent years there has been a focus on able, gifted and talented pupils in our schools. Provision for the most able was a key feature of the Government's Excellence in Cities (EiC) initiative, launched in 1999. Coventry has been part of this initiative since September 2001. EiC schools have focussed on provision for their able, gifted and talented pupils, both within the classroom and through enrichment activities. At the same time a number of other schools within the LA looked to develop their provision.
Provision for able, gifted and talented pupils features strongly in the recent Education Act and will continue to be a key component, as schools develop their approach to Personalised Learning.
